Orriel Kave was born on Oct. 14, 1929, in East Moline, the daughter of William and Faye Burrell Kave. Her mother had a piano teacher named Orriel and chose the name for her first-born daughter. Throughout her life, Orriel loved the uniqueness of her name and never met another person with it. She married Robert VanHollebeke on Oct. 9, 1948, in Moline.
In early years, Orriel had worked for the former Illinois Bell Telephone and for Ben Franklin. Mrs. VanHollebeke loved her family and especially enjoyed time with her grand and great-grandchildren. She and her husband were avid Iowa Hawkeye fans and Notre Dame fans. Orriel had made many wonderful friends at the Quad City Kidney Center, Silvis.
Survivors include her children, Douglas (Susan) VanHollebeke, East Moline, Josie Woodward, East Moline, and Cory (Jim) Yeager, Moline; grandchildren, Shawn (Michael) Chaney, Sarah VanHollebeke, Amy Woodward, Kyle (Melissa) Yeager, Hannah Yeager and Brett Yeager; great-grandchildren, Kaden, Cameron, Avery and John "J.J."; and sisters, Mildred Foutch, Raleigh, N.C., Marian Reddick, New Windsor, and Carole Stewart, Cleveland, Ill.
