Moline Class of 1972

Moline High School's graduating class of 1972 needs volunteers for the organizing committee for its 40-year reunion in 2012. A meeting will be 1 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at the home of Jeanette Donohue Wren; call (309) 762-5002 for the address; or check in to the class website, moline1972.com, and use the "contact us" form, and the address will be sent to you ..

This meeting will be open to Skype participants all over the U.S., so you do not need to be local to be on the committee. The committee wants need new blood and new ideas.

Alleman Class of 1981

Alleman High School's Class of '81 will have its 30th-anniversary reunion June 24-26.

A social mixer will be 6 p.m. to closing time Friday, June 24, at Icon's Martini Bar, 124 18th St., in the District of Rock Island.

An informal dinner will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at Johnny's Italian Steak House, 1300 River Drive, Moline. Work attire, no jeans, please! Cost is $20 in advance or $30 at the door.

Icon's will be the scene of the "Ra Ra Ya Ya Ahhhhhhhhhhh Reggae Bash" on Sunday. Doors open at 2, and the music of Indika begins at 4. Cost is $10.

UTHS Class of 1977

The UTHS class of 1977 reunion committee is seeking classmates to participate in planning its 35-year reunion, scheduled for 2012.

USS The Sullivans

The 24th reunion of the USS The Sullivans, DD537/DDG68, will be Sept. 21-25 in the hometown of the five Sullivan brothers, Waterloo, Iowa.

Events include a visit to the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum, Sullivan Park, John Deere Tractor Assembly Plant and the Iowa National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility. Special guest speaker will be Kelly Sullivan, the only granddaughter of the Sullivan Brothers, who lost their lives in the sinking of the USS Juneau in 1942.
