Mediacom Expands High-def Line-up --

Three New Channels added to Free HD Family Cable; Plus Launch of Newest Movie Channel

Moline, IL – April 13, 2010 – Mediacom customers in the Quad Cities and adjacent counties will find five new channels added to their line-ups this week, including more channels delivered in high-definition (HD). The HD channels for Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and Spike were added Monday to continue Mediacom's boost of free HD channels available to Family Cable customers equipped for HD television viewing.

The new channels are Spike HD (ch. 770), Comedy Central HD (ch. 771), and Nickelodeon HD (ch. 777). The expand the free HD Family Cable channels located between 703 and 777 and made available automatically Family Cable customers equipped for HDTV.

"Just ask an electronics store manager in the Quad Cities or elsewhere, and you'll hear that that consumer demand for HDTV continues to grow," said Cari Fenzel, Mediacom's regional vice president. "The world of digital TV and high-def are great improvements in television. Our commitment is to deliver the most popular channels in free HD and help Mediacom customers maximize the digital viewing experience."

To view the higher-resolution HD channels that Mediacom includes in Family Cable, customers need an HD television connected to a Mediacom HD cable box or cable card.

In addition to expanding HD Family Cable, Mediacom will launch a pair of newly created movie channels, EPIX and EPIX HD. The channels derive from a partnership between three of Hollywood's largest movie studios, which makes available an unprecedented selection of movies and other programming from Paramount, Lionsgate and MGM. EPIX and EPIX HD are premium movie channels that will be viewable in standard definition (SD) and HD.

As of April 21, EPIX and EPIX HD will be available in Mediacom service areas in the Quad Cities and adjacent counties. Customers with a Digital Starz subscription will receive free access to preview the EPIX movie channels for several months ending August 1. As an "all-screen network," EPIX will deliver its programming across multiple platforms, giving customers the convenience of viewing anytime or anywhere by using On Demand or Mediacom Online (12 Mbps or faster).

EPIX movie channels will then to be available as a movie subscription choice ($1.00 for VIP customers; $4.95 for customers with video and Online service; $9.95 for video-only customers).

IMPACT Area: These latest channel additions affect Mediacom customers in and around the Quad Cities. In Iowa, this includes communities in Clinton, Jackson and Scott Counties. In Illinois, these channel line-ups affect Mediacom customers in communities located in Carroll, Henry, Rock Island and Whiteside Counties.
