Local Organization Seeking Help From Community
ROCK ISLAND – Inner-city children can have a new pair of tennis shoes on their feet with your help this spring. Christian Friendliness YouthHope and Lundgren Family Chiropractic are teaming up to distribute tennis shoes to youth in need. Dr. Eric Lundgren and Dr. Jeramy Blackwood of Lundgren Family Chiropractic will be hosting a Kicks for Kids shoe drive from March 22nd through March 26th. Throughout this week new patients will receive first day services at no charge in exchange for a donation of a new or gently used pair of youth tennis shoes. On March 24th, the office is encouraging its existing patients to get their treatments in exchange for a donation of youth tennis shoes to the YouthHope Center.
Dr. Lundgren says their office is "really looking forward to giving something back and helping the children of this community. We love being able to provide our time and talents to people in exchange for their shoe donation for such an incredible cause."
Christian Friendliness YouthHope's mission is to provide a safe haven for inner-city kids from kindergarten through high school. YouthHope's Director of Children's Outreach, Barb Montgomery, says, "some children come to YouthHope owning only one pair of tennis shoes that are worn out or too small for their feet. Having a clean, new pair of tennis shoes makes a world of difference to a child…"
Dr. Eric Lundgren encourages people to take advantage of this offer and call Lundgren Family Chiropractic at 793-4858 to make an appointment.
