Quad Cities – One look at the Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau's (QCCVB) website at http://www.visitquadcities.com and you will see that something new is going on!

The brand new home page includes large and colorful rotating photos that highlight the current offerings in the Quad Cities, along with improved navigation by moving the functions to the top of the page.

Along with the new website look, the QCCVB has added new content for people planning a wedding, meeting, or group tour in the Quad Cities.

The QCCVB has developed a brand new Wedding Planner to give Quad Cities' residents and visitors an easy way to find the perfect location for their wedding and reception. The Meeting Planner has been completely updated to give meeting planners a quick and easy way to find the perfect location for their next meeting or convention.

The new Group Tour section allows Group Tour planners to pick out sample itineraries that are of interest; build an itinerary selection online; and then have that list emailed directly to the QCCVB for follow-up and booking assistance.

"With this new online feature, group tour planners can pick itineraries that would best for them in an efficient manor and it's also a great way for them to see what the Quad Cities offers for group tours," Dan Gleason, QCCVB Group Tour Manager. "This way I can work with a planner to personalize their tour in the area."

A new Quad Cities in the News section shows off the highlights of all the great news coverage the Quad Cities area receives from around the world. The QCCVB works with travel writers throughout the year to garner story coverage about the area in magazines, newspapers, trade publications, television, and online. In 2009, the QCCVB hosted over 30 travel writers that visited the Quad Cities.

The new 2010 Quad Cities Visitors Guide is now available in print and online making it accessible 24/7! You can search the guide by chapter or download the entire guide for viewing from www.visitquadcities.com. This online format provides easy access to the guide for residents, visitors, and for front desk employees that are assisting visitors at their hotels and attractions.

In the Visitors section, new member listings have been added to promote to the latest in tourist travel trends, including pages for "Wineries & Microbreweries," "Health & Beauty," "Camping & RV Parks". Also, new and more powerful search features powered by Google Site Search allows visitors to quickly search the Event Calendar, our Member Directory, and the entire website from one location.

Across the entire site, "Book a Hotel Room" is available on every page, allowing visitors to find things to do, find places to eat, and easily make a hotel reservation from one website.

The QCCVB is growing its presence on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr. It's now easier to find social media connections, in order to connect to Quad Cities news and updates in more ways and join the region's ever-evolving conversation. The "Social Media" tab also includes an up-to-the-minute news feed from the Quad Cities Facebook page, so you can see what's hot in the QCA with just a few clicks.

"The QCCVB has benefited immensely from Facebook participation and we now have over 6,500 fans," said Charlotte Morrison, QCCVB VP Marketing & Communications. "We've also seen reciprocal traffic as a result of Facebook participation with Facebook as the #2 non-search-engine referrer to www.visitquadcities.com. On average, visitors to our site from Facebook viewed more pages and stayed on our website longer than other visitors."

Other improvements are still planned for the website including: a brand-new Event Calendar, with improved search features and a new event submission form to make it easier for residents to submit and promote their own local events; and a new Tourist Itinerary Planner, allowing potential visitors to create an account, save their favorite attractions and hotels, and build an online itinerary for their next visit to the Quad Cities.

Other favorite features have remained on the new website at www.visitquadcities.com, including: the question and answer section where questions can be submitted, the Suggested Travel Itineraries page with themed two to three night stays in the Quad Cities, hotel packages, and the video section.
