Also on Saturday the Restone Room welcomes back our friend Daphne Willis & Co. who has played for us & for the River Roots Live festival on more than one occasion, but if you haven't seen her yet get your turkey tail down here becuase this will be a great show!

Community Drum Circle continues its program held once a month again this week, so bring the relatives over Saturday morning and participate in a unified drum session! Other great programs and shows are in tune with week as well, so be sure to hear them all out!

International Songwriting Competition Deadline Dec. 2

Now in its eighth year, International Songwriting Competition (ISC) is one of the largest and most respected songwriting competitions in the world, providing the opportunity for songwriters to gain recognition and exposure in all genres in the field of songwriting.

Prizes include over $150,000 in cash and merchandise, including a $25,000 cash Grand Prize (which is the largest of any songwriting competition) and a scholarship to Berklee College of Music's Summer Performance Program for the winner of the Teen category. Last year ISC received over 15,500 entries from 100 countries worldwide. The deadline for submissions is next week, December 2nd.

Think you don't have a chance? Think again!

David G Smith, who was one of the Songwriters in the Round at Mojo's each month, won first place in one of the ISC categories last year with "Made For You" written with Jackie Kavan and Mike Willis. David & Mike are now in Nashville working on their music and Mike is using their award winning song as the title track on his 4th album due out in early 2010. If you would like to hear their award winning song, email Kate or respond to this email and we will forward it to you!

Work hard and dream big - you never know what you can do until you try!

Friday, November 27Andrew Landers ProjectWith Paige PopejoyFOLK/ROOTS/BLUESThree minutes with Andrew Landers is time well spent. He speaks his truth with creativity, texture, soul, and wit in music that ranges from acoustic folk simplicity to blues-rock intensity. Andrew Landers world is full of metaphor and meaning. Andy permeates his music; challenging you to deepen your love for fellow sojourners and acknowledge how desperately we need each other on these broken roads. Andrew enters into depravity and finds the hope. Andy believes, "Good music touches the core-both of culture and of the soul." With this belief, he crafts his him in, one thing is for certain-after seeing and hearing Andrew Landers, you will not look at life the same way.

Another QC singer-songwriter Paige Popjoy will open the show.DOORS: 7PM/ SHOW: 8PM/ TICKETS: $7BAND WEBSITE

Saturday, November 28Daphne Willis & Co. With Jim The MuleACOUSTIC/ROCK/BLUESThe 21-year-old front woman makes supple, soulful music possessing a sophistication that belies her age. Because of the silky, disarming ease of her songs, Willis has been described as a female Jack Johnson, but below the surface this introspective young artist brings a cutting-edge liveliness to the confessional singer/songwriter tradition that recalls the music of Rickie Lee Jones at the same age. In only two years, Willis has already made deep inroads on the Midwest club circuit and is now performing at top-echelon venues like Schuba's in Chicago, The Annex in Madison, First Avenue in Minneapolis and the River Roots Live Festival in Davenport - and pulling off this feat without the help of a booking agent. She's deepened the impression with the self-made 2007 EP Matter of Time, which she has been selling. QC Midwest Roots Rock n' Roll band Jim The Mule will open the show.
