CHICAGO (AP) — A swath of Chicago's Dan Ryan Expressway has reopened after a multi-car crash that left at least eight people with minor injuries.

Illinois State Police say the northbound express lanes near 31st Street reopened Saturday after being closed for about an hour.

Police initially reported that seven cars were involved in the crash but later revised that number to five.

Chicago Police and the Illinois Department of Transportation assisted with traffic control.

Chicago fire officials say eight people, including a juvenile, were transported to area hospitals. State police say all the injuries appear to be minor.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
