Iowa DOT offices closed for Thanksgiving holiday
AMES, IOWA – Nov. 5, 2009 – The Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) is announcing the Thanksgiving holiday schedules for the Motor Carrier Permit Center and all Iowa DOT-operated driver's license stations.
Motor Carrier Permit Center
The Iowa DOT's Regional Permit Center will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 26 and 27, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Truckers and other commercial vehicle operators needing permits for registration, fuel, authority or oversize loads to travel in Iowa on these days will need to get all permits in advance.
The permit center will resume normal operations Monday, Nov. 30.
The permit center, located at 6310 S.E. Convenience Blvd., Ankeny, is a one-stop source for fuel and trip permits, routing for oversize loads, International Registration Plan registration, International Fuel Tax Agreement licensing, and travel authority needed by truckers to operate in Iowa and several other states. Driver's license stations
All Iowa DOT driver's license stations, normally open Tuesday through Saturday, will be closed Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 26-28, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
In lieu of Saturday service, the stations will be open Monday, Nov. 30, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Normal business hours will resume Tuesday, Dec. 1.
