E.M. ambulance foes offer yard signs
Opponents of a city-run ambulance service in East Moline now can display their views on their lawns.
Yard signs encouraging people to vote "no" on the Feb. 2 referendum are available from Citizens for a Voice, a grassroots organization created earlier this year. The organization's Web site, www.citizensforavoice.org, seeks a $5 donation to offset the cost of the signs.
Steve Dussliere, who started Citizens for a Voice, said the Web site -- up for a week following a month of construction -- offers information on both sides of the ambulance issue.
City information about the ambulance proposal, including a Powerpoint presented by East Moline fire Chief Rob DeFrance during recent public meetings, is online at www.eastmoline.com/firenews.cfm.
