R.I. offers medical waste disposal

ROCKISLAND -- Free disposal of home health and medical waste will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon Monday and Nov. 16 at City Hall. Residents can bring expired or unused medications (liquid or pills), medical vials and syringes. Residents should remove labels from containers and must provide proof of Rock Island residency through a photo ID or official mail. If residents can't participate in these disposal dates, the Waste Commission of Scott County landfill,11555 110th Ave. in Davenport, and the recycling center, 5640 Carey Ave. in Davenport, are available Mondays and Tuesdays 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to noon. Call for an appointment.
