Sherrard H.S. Blood Drive honors student killed in car accident
Press release submitted by American Red Cross of the Quad Cities Area
Red Cross Blood Drive at Sherrard High School
American Red Cross Blood Drive to be Held in Memory of Sara Wyant
Even though Sara Wyant's brief life was cut short on October 31, 2003, she became a lifesaver for three other families. When Sara was killed in a car accident in Sherrard, Illinois, at the tender age of 16, she became an organ donor. Through the Iowa Donor Network, Sara's family learned that three individuals' lives had been saved because of Sara's organ donations. In November, the Sherrard High School American Red Cross Club will hold a special blood drive in memory of Sara Wyant, who was a student at Sherrard when she was killed.
