Aledo's O'Brien named to Missouri Valley Football Conference Silver Anniversary Team

Former Aledo all-state football player Michael O'Brien was named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference's Silver Anniversary Team on Tuesday. O'Brien, who helped lead the Green Dragons to the 1998 Class 2A state title, was one of 28 defensive players selected. In his four seasons at Western Illinois, O'Brien was a three-team all-conference selection and a first-team All-American in 2003. From 2000-03, he recorded 54 tackels for loss, the third-most total in school history and recorded 16 sacks, tied for the eighth-most total in school history. -- Staff report
