Dr. Krista Michelle McKinzey and Dr. Edward David Wallington, both of Edinburgh, Scotland, were married Aug. 14, 2008, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Edinburgh. The Rev. Michael Henesy officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony. The reception was held at Melville Castle, Edinburgh.

The bride is the daughter of Clifford and Debra McKinzey, Milan. Grandparents of the bride are Thomas and Janice Donnelly. The groom is the son of John and Sally-Ann Wallington, Richmondshire, England. Grandmother of the groom is Anne Divine.

Bridesmaids were Amanda Duffield and Hannah Wallington. Groomsmen were Ryan McKinzey and Jack Wallington. Flower girl was Maesa Harris. Ringbearer was Hunter Conant. Witnesses to signing the register were Euan and Barbara Revell. Ushers were Chris Anderson and Cathi Mathis; Andrew and Adam Lavery. Alex Lavery and Samantha Timm presided over the guestbook.

Krista graduated from Rock Island High School; BSc and MSc with 1st class honours in Geography at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand; and a Ph.D in Geography (specialism Glaciology) at the University of Edinburgh. She is employed as climate change schools project manager for a government funded project to embed climate change throughout the national school curriculum (ages 5-18 years), U.K.

Edward graduated from Aylesbury, U.K.; BSc in Surveying and Mapping science at the University of Newcastle, U.K; and an MSc in Environmental Forestry at the University of Wales; a Ph.D in Geography (specialism Remote Sensing and Forestry) at the University of Edinburgh. He is employed as a programme and business development manager for the Forestry Commission based in Edinburgh (U.K. government agency responsible for the country's forest estate).

At the Scotland reception, family and guests were entertained at Melville Castle by a Scottish bagpiper, an interactive falconry exhibition with guest participation, a slide show of family and friends (with Krista and Ed) accompanied by a string quartet and a "ceilidh" (traditional Scottish dancing), with a live Scottish band. The festivities concluded the following day with the wedding party, family and friends attending the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, (marching bands from numerous nations accompanied by fireworks at Edinburgh Castle.)

After honeymooning in Tuscany, Italy, and Spain, the newlyweds had a "Blessing of the Rings," officiated by Monsignor Wellman at Tanglewood Hills on Sept. 27, 2008, in the USA. Family and friends joined Krista and Ed for a second reception at Tanglewood Hills, Bettendorf, so those who could not attend the Scotland wedding could join in celebrating their new life together.
