Mr. and Mrs. Dave Cooper will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Aledo Train Depot, 204 SE 2nd Ave. All friends and relatives invited; the couple request no gifts.

Mr. Cooper and the former Sandra Box married Oct. 3, 1959, at Bethany Baptist Church, Moline.

Mr. Cooper retired from John Deere Industrial Works, Davenport, in December 1988. He farmed and then worked for Mercer Township, Aledo.

Mrs. Cooper retired from the Department of Human Services in July 2000, then worked for the Mercer Township Board. They moved to Gilbertsville, Ky., in September 2004.

They have one daughter, Jody (William) Holm of Conway, Ark.; and two sons, Randy (Cristina) of Moline; and Michael (Melanie) of Maryville, Tenn. They have eight grandchildren and four stepgrandchildren.

The children and grandchildren hosted a dinner and family celebration in Kentucky.
