Carol Aitken, Moline, will celebrate her 80th birthday with a family brunch this weekend.
Carol Mefford was born Oct. 29, 1929, in Peoria, Ill. She married Robert Aitken on March 5, 1949.
Her children and spouses are Kathy (Jim) Depies, Big Bend, Wis.; Vicky Haynes, LeClaire; and Laury (Mike) Heckenkamp, Moline. Her three grandchildren are Erik (Tammy) Depies, Wisconson; the late Kevin Depies, Wisconsin; and Mitch (Jennifer), Moline. Her great-grandsons are Jackson and Samuel Depies.
She was employed by Moline School District 40 for 22 years. She is a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, Moline.
