Press release submitted by Curtainbox Theatre Company
The Curtainbox Theatre Company presents its third production in the Quad Cities, GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, written by Pulitzer Prize, Academy Award and Tony Award winning screenwriter and playwright David Mamet. The show is directed by David Bonde and features the talent of Michael Kennedy, Daniel DP Sheridan, Louis Hare, Aaron Randolph, Eddie Staver III, Pat Flaherty, David Furness and Tristan Tapscott.
GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS is nothing less than Death of a Salesman, in the fast lane. A scalding comedy about small time cut throat real estate salesmen trying to grind out a living by pushing plots of land on reluctant buyers in a never-ending scramble for their fair share of the American Dream. Here is Mamet at his very best, writing with brutal power and the tough life of tough characters who cajole, connive, wheedle and wheel and deal for a piece of the action- where closing a sale can mean a brand new Cadillac but losing one can mean losing it all. Also a major motion picture starring Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Alan Arkin, Alec Baldwin, Kevin Spacey and Ed Harris. A story for everyone who works for a living.
The Curtainbox Theatre Company originated in Los Angeles in 2001. They successfully produced several shows in Los Angeles, Santa Monica and at the acclaimed Stella Adler Theater in Hollywood. Company founder, Kim Furness, now brings her theatre company to the Quad Cities.
