Special needs participants sought for pageant

6th Annual Illinois Miss You Can Do It Pageant, a non-profit event, will be a magical event for girls and young women with challenges or special needs.
Kewanee, Il.
The annual pageant, for girls and young women with challenges for special needs, will be held Saturday, July 25, 2009 in Petersen Auditorium at Kewanee High School.
Deadline for registration is July, 10, 2009. The registration fee is $50.
This year the pageant is open to girls ages 4 -25, and will be divided into four age groups.
All participants will be escorted while on stage. Numerous awards will be given.
Abbey Curran, who has had Cerebral Palsy since birth, and was Miss Iowa USA 2008, organized the pageant six years ago to give girls and young women with disabilities a chance to have a pageant experience.
The emcee for the event will be Gary Kroeger, former TV game show host and Saturday Night Live host.
Documentary film to be made - A New Your film production company will be returning to complete filming the pageant as will as preparation activities.
Happy Joe's Pizza Party for all registered participants will be during the day of the pageant.
This is a non-profit activity for special needs girls and young women. Donations are welcome.
