ALTON, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a northwest Iowa woman has died after she was hit by a large door on a machine shed that was blown open by strong winds. The Sioux County sheriff's office says 61-year-old Janice Schuetz, of rural Alton, was found unconscious in her yard around noon on Wednesday. She died at a Sioux City hospital on Thursday. Authorities say the door broke free and hit Schuetz in the head, causing severe injuries. The National Weather Service reported winds gusting at almost 50 mph in the area Wednesday morning.
