Moline Public Library is forming an American Civil War book discussion group. All interested readers interested are invited to join the group. The first book will be Battle Cry of Freedom: the Civil War Era by James McPherson, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for History, and will be discussed in three parts, March 12, April 9, and May 14 at 6:30 P.M. The book is a good introduction to the most harrowing period in United States history. Books about battles, biographies and other related subjects will be discussed in the future. Please register at the 2nd floor Reference Desk at the Moline Public Library 3210 41st Street and pick up a copy of Battle of Cry of Freedom and program guide or phone 309-736-5737 for more information.
