HAVE A VERY MERRY ZUMBA EVENT

North Family YMCA Holds Latin Dance Class To Benefit Toys For Tots

Davenport, Iowa – December 4, 2008 – It’s a rhythm and a beat that will get you up and on your feet for an evening of fun and excitement that will benefit your body and Quad City area children this holiday season. The North Family YMCA is hosting "A Very Merry Zumba Event," on Tuesday, December 16, from 5:30-7:30pm, at 624 West 53rd Street, Davenport.

Admission is one new toy to benefit the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign.

"Making a donation to Toys for Tots is a holiday tradition for many area families," said Rennee Schwartz, Health and Wellness Director at the North Family YMCA. "We want to make sure this tradition continues and grows, especially during these tough economic times, so we are encouraging more of people to take time to take care of themselves this holiday season while also helping out the U.S. Marine Corp."

Zumba is one of the YMCA’s most popular cardiovascular wellness classes. It uses fun Latin dance moves and music to get you moving and ultimately working out without even realizing it.

"The class is great for those who are looking for a new way to get back into fitness but dread the thought of a "traditional workout" or for those who want to change up their fitness routine. The only requirement to take this class – you must come to have fun," added Schwartz.

Quad City area Marines will be on hand to take your new toy or monetary donation at "A Very Merry Zumba Event," on Tuesday, December 16. You do not have to be a YMCA member to participate. The first 30 participants will receive a free t-shirt and there will be plenty of holiday cheer to share in. For more information contact the North Family YMCA at (563) 391-7771.
