Ronald Marquette Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at the National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, with military honors by American Legions 569/200 and VFW Post 1303. Maria `Malu' AranaMaria "Malu"Arana, 22, of Moline, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Visitation will be 9-11:30 a.m. Saturday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, with a funeral Mass at noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Moline. Further arrangements are pending.
Raymond Eggers Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, with a visitation one hour prior at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, 6601 38th Ave., Moline. Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation. Ray was born Aug. 26, 1953, in Moline, to Raymond E. and Dorothy Williams Eggers. He was the first male cheerleader at Moline High School. Before his accident, he loved to fish and hunt with his dad. At the age of 19, Ray was in a motorcycle accident and was confined to a wheelchair for 35 years. He also had to endure dialysis for 17 years. Ray was a computer operator at the Rock Island Arsenal for 12 years. He enjoyed music and was conscientious about the environment. He also helped coach kids' baseball. Ray was a generous, selfless, charitable and a wonderful son. He lit up a room and was always happy to be with others. His courage and bravery with his condition for 35 years was something to be admired. He loved his mother, sisters and all of his family very much. Ray is survived by his mother, Dorothy Eggers, Moline; sisters, Paula (Gerald) Luckenbihl, Moline, Karen (Ronald) Williams, Ravenna, Mich., Marcia (William) Herr, Cleveland; brother, Walter Hedstrom, Roseburg, Ore.; several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation. He was born Dec. 27, 1951, in Moline, to Willard Thomas and Doris Winnie Anderson McMullen. He was employed at John Deere Harvester as a welder, retiring Sept. 1, 2003. He was a member of the UAW Local 865 and the Masonic Lodge in Rock Island. Survivors include his spouse, Dixie McMullen, East Moline; daughter, Heather Hall and her children, Lindsey Muck, Alex Hall and Sydnie Hall, all of St. Robert, Mo.; son, Shawn (Beth) McMullen and their children, Kayla McMullen, Stephan Abbott and Haillee Abbott, all of Colona; mother, Doris McMullen, East Moline; sister, Sandy (Larry) Rounds, Ft. Elaine Mulvey was born Oct. 3, 1923, in Marshfield, Wis., the daughter of Maurice and Caroline Schmidtke Mulvey. She married Chester Wangeline in 1942. He died March 1, 1996. She had been a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include children, Kathleen and husband, Ken Carlson, Silvis, Patricia Larmore and special friend, Sam, Ankeny, Iowa, Chester and wife, Beth Wangeline, Moline, Thomas Wangeline and special friend, Lurene McCoy, Silvis, Kenneth and wife, Donna Wangeline, Milan; daughter-in-law, Lucy Wangeline, Santa Ana, Calif.; grandchildren, Crystal, Shannon, Sherry, Kenneth, Melissa, Joshua, Samantha and Patrick; great-grandchildren, Jason, Benjamin, Joshua, Victoria, Maxwell, Elizabeth and Olivia; great-great-grandchildren, Braylon and Silena; brother and sister-in-law, Maurice and Ann Mulvey, Milan; and her good friend and companion, her dog, Muffy. Margaret KellyMargaret C. Kelly, 60, of rural Lynn Center, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at her home. Her body has been donated to the University of Iowa for scientific study. Surviving are daughters, Marjorie Wilkerson, Davenport, Martha Martin, Mary Jane Schirmer, both Texas; two grandchildren; a sister.
