Jeanette would always make this recipe for the holidays.

Ingredients

4-5 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 can (12 ounces) stewed tomatoes
1 can (16 ounces) sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup brown sugar, not packed

Instructions

Fry bacon until crisp. Remove from pan. Save enough bacon grease to saute chopped onion. Add stewed tomatoes (mash slightly so there are no big pieces). Add brown sugar, sauerkraut and crumbled bacon. Mix together well. Place in baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes.
